NEWS & UPDATES
January 4, 2010
--"Deadsville Nine Entertainment" is now on hiatus, probably indefinitely. --"Slipgate Nine Entertainment" is born! A networking page has been set up on myspace for it right here. That will be its home for some months, until it has its own site. --Work on the audio drama series continues well. Nothing more to report. Yet.
October 31, 2009
--Two audio drama projects are in their beginning stages. As these are not based on preexisting material, like previous productions, there is a writing phase to these projects, which is underway. --The larger of the projects is a science fiction audio dramas series set in the future. We have committed to one season (20 episodes). Whether we commit to a second season will depend directly on the level of interest from listeners. Some preproduction work is now taking place, including musical recording for the soundtrack. Due to the sweeping scope of this project, we may be looking at the series premiere in the spring of 2010, or later. This is a guess. We'll have a clearer picture as development progresses. This Halloween night, Deadsville Nine Entertainment releases the first four tracks of a work-in-progress volume called DEADSVILLE NINE ORCHESTRA. These musical/ambient tracks with orchestral components were used to score our various productions. New entries may be periodically added during regular updates to this webpage. You can visit the Deadsville Nine Orchestra page: HERE. THE PROLOGUE to the audiobook drama, HOAD'S GRIM, has been rereleased as a testament to the difference a year can make. This new version is a total remix with some newly recorded dialogue, the narrative completely rerecorded, changes in the soundtrack (including new material), and other things. That the Prologue works well as a stand-alone story of its own contributed to the decision to re-release it, as well as knowing that this may be the end of Deadsville Nine's narrated "audiobook drama" productions, so where better to end than where it was begun. Visit its internet archive page HERE.
September 9, 2009
--Couldn't resist an update on 9/9/09 --Deadsville Nine will be abandoning narrated audio fiction and the "audiobook drama" form. We will now concentrate on the audio drama form. --The audio drama series is now in its planning stages with discussion between Jack Kincaid and James Keller. --Next update may be a month or two. D9 may move slower now that Jack Kincaid is also returning to writing novels. HOAD'S GRIM is now available in e-book form. Visit its page at: http://www.jack-kincaid.com/hoadsgrim
AUGUST 30, 2009
--On August 30, 2008, Deadsville Nine released its first episode: the prologue of the audio book drama, Hoad's Grim. On this anniversary, we announce that a new version of the prologue is under production (at a leisurely pace) and the release of the script to Hoad's Grim is imminent. This will be the equivalent of an e-book novel, which you can download and distribute freely by the terms of its Creative Commons License. Keep an eye on this page in the coming days. --As it pertains to new audio projects, Deadsville Nine remains on a production hiatus for a length of time undetermined. This situation has the potential to change rapidly, but is not expected to for some time, as this endeavor ponders its future direction, if any.
